Radia to Leverage Zotec Partners' Medical Billing Management. - Health & Beauty Close-Up

Zotec Partners, a provider of medical billing, practice management and Radiology Information Systems (RIS) software and services, said that Radia Inc., PS, out of Everett, Wash., has signed a five-year contract with the company to manage its accounts receivable.

'The radiology and imaging business in the United States faces serious challenges as the costs of providing value-added services continue to climb while reimbursements are being cut by both government and private payors,' said Rich Satre, M.D., Radia's president and CEO. 'The decision to outsource our medical billing operation to Zotec Partners is a key element in positioning Radia to further enhance our services for our patients and regional healthcare partners.'

Radia Inc., PS, a Pacific Northwest radiology group, is composed of more than 80 diagnostic radiologists and surgeons and nearly 230 additional support staff. Zotec said that Radia serves 13 hospitals in the state of Washington, providing a wide-range of professional radiological services. The group provides the highest quality outpatient imaging services at imaging centers in Everett and partners with Evergreen Medical Center in Kirkland and Redmond and Swedish Health Services Centers in Issaquah and Edmonds. Additionally, Radia has collaborated with Providence Regional Medical Center Everett to provide vascular and vein services in Everett and Mill Creek.

'We chose Zotec Partners because it is a nationally recognized leader in radiology revenue cycle management and offers the best technology and expertise for billing and business analysis,' said Ward Hinger, chief administrative officer of Radia. 'We need the very best partners with specialized knowledge and a national perspective of our industry to help us run our business most effectively as we seek to mitigate the downward pressures on reimbursements and the cost of adaptation to change. Zotec is also able to provide an agile platform for rapid growth and assist us with our continued emphasis on patient care and maximizing value for our partners in healthcare delivery.'

'Enhanced technology and medical billing expertise are two necessary means of optimizing income, minimizing costs and providing organized data to support informed business decisions for every imaging group,' said Taylor Moorehead, managing partner of Zotec's West Region. 'We are excited to help Radia streamline its billing process and improve collections.'
