After a nationwide search, John Muir Health has selected CalvinKnight to be its new president and chief executive officer beginningApril 4.
Knight is president and chief operating officer of Swedish HealthServices in Seattle, which has five medical campuses and multipleambulatory care sites. The 1,492-bed Swedish Health system has netrevenues of $1.8 billion.
He succeeds Ken Anderson, who will retire March 31 after morethan 36 years at John Muir Health.
Knight will assume the post as John Muir nears completion of morethan $800 million in additions to its Walnut Creek and Concordcampuses.

Knight joined Swedish Health in 1995 as chief operating officer.He became executive vice president and chief operating officer inMay 2007, and became president and chief operating officer in April2008.
He holds master's degrees in health administration and businessadministration from the University of Iowa.
