According to new.gov.hk, Secretary for Health, Welfare & Food DrYork Chow has established networks with Sweden's Ministry of Health &Social Affairs, and gained experience in health and elderly careservices. Dr Chow began his two-dayvisit to Sweden on May 18 to gainexperience in elderly care, and care of patients suffering old-agediseases. In Stockholm he visited a community-based primaryhealthcare facility, a home for people with dementia and a home helpservice centre for the elderly, tosee the services provided by thefacilities and understand their role in thecountry's healthcareservices. Dr Chow also had a business lunch with some 40 guests fromthe Swedish Government and business communities. Dr Chow will visitthe Swedish Handicap Institute and meet with the Swedish Minister forHealth & Elderly Care Ylva Johansson on May 19.
